Citrus Grog with Black Pepper and Cloves
Ingredients
- Dark rum 10 fl oz
- Orange juice concentrate 15 fl oz
- Water 10 fl oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 5 fl oz
- Green peppercorns 1 teaspoon
- Citrus Zest Mix 3 tablespoons
- Ground clove 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Squeeze the juice from the lemons and oranges.
Step 2
Finely chop the zest, place it in a heavy-bottomed pot, pour in 3 tablespoons of rum, and set over medium heat. Heat it up significantly without boiling, and ignite it. Flambé the zest for about 15 seconds.
Step 3
Immediately pour the juice into the pot, add the rum, and heat again until just below boiling.
Step 4
Serve hot, adding black pepper and cloves. Pour into mugs or heatproof glasses.
