Ingredients
- Pickled Apples 4 pieces
- Dark Ale 0 qt
- Medium-dry sherry 10 fl oz
- Brown Sugar 0 oz
- Lemon ½ piece
- Ground Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg ¼ teaspoon
- Grated Ginger Root ¼ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the apple halves in a shallow pot or baking dish, sprinkle with sugar, add a quarter cup of ale, cover with a lid, and place in an oven preheated to 345°F. Bake for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
In a large pot, pour in the sherry and the remaining ale, add the lemon zest and spices, and bring to almost a boil over medium heat (about 6 minutes), then remove from heat and serve immediately.
Step 3
Before serving, pour the ale into mugs, adding half of the baked apple to each.
