Christmas Fruit Compote with Pears
Ingredients
- Pears 8 pieces
- Honey 4 tablespoons
- Vanilla Pod 1 piece
- Cardamom 6 pieces
- Cinnamon 2 pieces
- Yellow Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Lemon 1 piece
- Orange zest 1 piece
- Dried Turkey 1 cup
- Green Tea (brick) 1 teaspoon
- Natural Yogurt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the pears in a saucepan and cover with water.
Step 2
Scrape the seeds from the vanilla and add it to the saucepan.
Step 3
Add honey, cardamom, cinnamon, sugar, citrus zest, and lemon juice.
Step 4
Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-12 minutes.
Step 5
Pour half of the syrup into a bowl, remove the spices, add the tea bag and dried fruits, and let it sit overnight.
Step 6
Let the pears cool in the syrup.
Step 7
Cut the pears in half and mix the syrup and compote, removing the tea bag before serving.
Step 8
Serve with Greek yogurt.
