Christmas Eggnog with Beer and Sherry

Ingredients

  • Chocolate eggs 6 pieces
  • Medium-dry sherry 25 fl oz
  • Ginger Green Wine 0 qt
  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Ground Nutmeg ½ teaspoon
  • Grated Ginger Root 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon 1 piece
  • Cardamom 3 pieces
  • Green peppercorns 3 pieces
  • Pickled Apples 12 pieces
  • Ground clove 3 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the small apples (10-12 pieces) into large wedges and halves, and place them in an oven preheated to 345°F for 15-20 minutes. Bake until golden brown.

Step 2

Meanwhile, tie the cloves, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon in cheesecloth and place in a large pot. Pour in two cups of beer and keep on low heat for 10 minutes without boiling.

Step 3

Then remove the spice bag, add the sugar, sherry, and remaining ale, and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring, without allowing the liquid to boil.

Step 4

While the punch is heating, first separately and then together, whip the egg whites and yolks vigorously.

Step 5

Slowly pour the egg mixture into the punch and stir thoroughly until well combined.

Step 6

Transfer the hot liquid to a punch bowl, add the baked apples, and serve immediately. Ladle into warmed cups and mugs.
