Description

Christmas Eggnog

Ingredients

  • Whole egg 12 pieces
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
  • Ground Nutmeg ¾ spoons
  • Clove 5 pieces
  • Vanilla extract 2½ spoons
  • 10% cream 4 glasses
  • Milk 4 glasses
  • Sugar 1¾ glasses
  • Dark rum 3 glasses

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Combine the milk with cinnamon, clove, and vanilla essence (1/2 teaspoon) in a saucepan. Place over low heat and remove from the stove just before it reaches boiling point.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar vigorously until they reach a fluffy, airy consistency.

Step 3

Gradually pour in the milk into the egg mixture in small portions, while continuously whisking.

Step 4

Pour the egg and milk mixture into a saucepan and place it over medium heat. Heat gently, stirring continuously with a whisk, until the mixture starts to thicken and resemble a cream.

Step 5

Remove the cloves from the mixture, transfer it to a large pitcher, and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Step 6

While stirring thoroughly, add the cream, the remaining vanilla extract, nutmeg, and light rum to the mixture.

Step 7

Place the container with the eggnog in the refrigerator overnight. To prevent the alcohol from evaporating, cover it tightly with a lid or seal it with plastic wrap.

Step 8

Before serving, pour into glasses and lightly sprinkle with cinnamon or cocoa.
