Celery and melon salad with mint dressing
Ingredients
- Celery stalk 4 pieces
- Musk melon 1 piece
- Lemon 1 piece
- Shallot 1 head
- Champagne Vinegar 2 spoons
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Mint 0 oz
- Soy Sauce 2 spoons
- Green onion tops 2 pieces
- Radish 8 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Squeeze the juice from the lemon and zest one and a half teaspoons of the peel. Finely chop the shallot and place it in a small bowl along with the lemon zest, juice, and vinegar, and let it sit for half an hour. Then, add the olive oil, soy sauce, and finely chopped mint—setting aside a dozen leaves for garnishing the salad later. Mix well and season the mixture to taste with ground black pepper.
Step 2
Slice the flesh of the melon, celery stalks, and radishes into very thin pieces — it's best to use a mandoline for this.
Step 3
Arrange the melon on a large platter first, followed by the celery, radishes, and finely chopped green onions. Drizzle the salad with mint dressing, scatter mint leaves on top, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
