Many Italians take pride in it because the combination of the colors of the ingredients resembles the Italian national flag 'Tricolore' (green, white, and red). Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Arrange the mozzarella cheese and sliced sweet tomatoes alternately on a plate, drizzle with 5 grams of olive oil, pour basil pesto sauce around the edges, and sprinkle with black crushed pepper and sea salt. Garnish with a sprig of fresh basil.
Step 2
For the sauce, blend the basil leaves (100 grams), pine nuts, garlic, parmesan, and 100 milliliters of olive oil until smooth, then add lemon juice, salt, and white pepper.
