Caesar Salad with Garlic Bread
Salads • American
Description
Croutons can be store-bought, but they taste much better when made at home.
Ingredients
- Romaine lettuce 15 oz
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts 20 oz
- Parmesan Cheese 5 oz
- White bread 10 oz
- Garlic 1 head
- Mayonnaise to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Slice the white bread into pieces about 1 cm thick. Take a non-stick skillet and heat it up. Toast the bread on both sides until it becomes crispy and brittle. Allow the bread slices to cool, then rub each piece on both sides with garlic and cut into small cubes. Place all the croutons on a plate and set them in a dry, warm place for a while. If the bread is not toasted well enough and is soft inside, you will need to dry the croutons for a longer time.
Step 2
Boil the chicken breast and let it cool. Then cut it into small cubes. Chop the lettuce (ideally, use Napa cabbage) coarsely. Mix the lettuce, chicken, and croutons, dress with mayonnaise, and sprinkle grated Parmesan on top.
