Burgers with Homemade Buns
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
- Milk ½ cup
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Water ½ cup
- Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Toasted Sesame 0 oz
- Beef 10 oz
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Eel 8 leaves
- Onion 1 head
- Basil Mustard Sauce 0 fl oz
- Sliced Processed Cheese 8 slices
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
For the dough, mix water and milk, slightly warm it, add sugar and yeast, stir, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Add salt, oil, and egg, and mix. Gradually add sifted flour (if too wet, use 2.5 cups). Knead a soft dough; if it’s sticky, that’s fine; if it spreads too much, add more flour. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 2
Transfer the risen dough to a lightly oiled surface, divide it into 8 balls. Line a baking sheet with oiled parchment paper, place the buns on it, slightly flatten them, shape them attractively, cover with plastic wrap, and let them rest for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 390°F, then immediately brush the buns with egg, milk, or oil, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and place them in the oven. Bake until golden brown. Once cooled, I place them on a grill rack to get a little 'toasted'.
Step 4
Finely chop the beef (or use ready-made minced meat), add the egg and salt with pepper to taste. Form eight patties slightly larger than the buns (as they will shrink), and grill them.
Step 5
At this point, you can assemble the burger — add ingredients to taste. I add a slice of sandwich cheese (I love President Mozzarella), a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a few rings of red onion, a pickled cucumber, and Heinz mustard sauce. Sometimes I make a burger sauce (mixing a tablespoon of Dijon mustard with two tablespoons of ketchup, two tablespoons of low-fat sour cream, and a tablespoon of soy sauce).
