Description

Broccoli baked with almonds

Ingredients

  • Broccoli 1 head
  • Chopped almonds 0 oz
  • Garlic 6 cloves
  • Grated Ginger Root 2 tablespoons
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 210°C (410°F).

Step 2

Take one large head of broccoli, rinse thoroughly, and cut off the thick stem. Then cut the broccoli into florets, keeping the stems on. Cut each floret in half and then in half again — this way, you will have small broccoli bouquets with long stems.

Step 3

Prepare the dressing by mixing all the ingredients: cut the garlic cloves in half, grate the ginger root, chop the chili, add olive oil and soy sauce; then pour it over the broccoli. Mix thoroughly by hand to ensure all the broccoli is coated with the dressing.

Step 4

Place the broccoli on a baking sheet or in a wide baking dish and put it in the oven.

Step 5

On a separate baking sheet, place the almonds and put them in the oven one rack below the broccoli.

Step 6

Bake the broccoli for 15-20 minutes until a light golden-brown crust appears. Remove the almonds earlier as they toast (I slightly overcooked the almonds the first time, so keep an eye on them!).

Step 7

Crush the almonds, place the broccoli on a plate, add salt, your favorite spices if needed, and sprinkle the broccoli with almonds. It can be served!
