Ingredients
- Vodka 0 qt
- Honey 5 oz
- Pickled Apples 0 oz
- Ground dried cherries 0 oz
- Dried Yellow Plums 0 oz
- Grated Ginger Root ⅓ teaspoon
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Ground clove 3 pieces
- Green peppercorns 3 pieces
- Bay leaf 1 piece
- Unleavened dough 1 piece
- Smoked Pear Tequila 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Soak the dried fruits in vodka for 6 hours to let them swell.
Step 2
Make a simple dough from flour and water with a small amount of oil. No specific proportions are necessary; it should just be moldable like plasticine: it is needed as a sealant for the gaps between the pot and the lid, through which alcohol could evaporate.
Step 3
Take a clay pot suitable for baking in the oven and place the dried fruits along with the alcohol inside.
Step 4
Add honey and spices to the pot.
Step 5
Seal the lid with the dough to ensure there are no gaps.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 120°F. Place the pot with all its contents in the oven.
Step 7
Leave the pot in the oven for 10 to 12 hours.
Step 8
Remove the pot from the oven, let it cool slightly, and carefully open the lid.
Step 9
Strain the drink through a double layer of cheesecloth.
Step 10
Pour the strained beverage into heat-resistant clay mugs or glasses.
