Description
The recipe for this "gem" (which translates from French) first appeared in the book "New and Improved Bartenders’ Manual" by a classic American bartender, Harry Johnson, which went through four editions in the late 19th century. The cocktail was most likely created by Johnson as well.

- Gin 0 fl oz
- Dry martini 0 fl oz
- Chartreuse Liqueur 0 fl oz
- Angostura 0 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix a pinch

Step 1
Pour gin, vermouth, and liqueur into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add bitters, and stir well.
Step 2
Strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish the rim with a twist of lemon peel.
