Beet Salad with Fried Mustard Seeds Indian Style
Ingredients
- Yellow Beets 2 pieces
- Onion 1 head
- Salt to taste
- Ground ancho chili pepper 1 piece
- Mustard Greens ½ teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 2
Wrap the beets in foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 40–50 minutes until tender. Let cool and peel. Then grate on a coarse grater and transfer to a bowl.
Step 3
Peel the onion and finely chop it. Add to the beets.
Step 4
Finely chop the chili and add it to the salad bowl as well.
Step 5
In a pan over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the mustard seeds and fry for a while. Add to the salad, mix, and serve immediately, seasoning with salt to taste.
