Beef and Sauerkraut Sandwich
Ingredients
- Beef 5 oz
- Rye Bread 8 pieces
- Swiss Cheese 10 oz
- Mayonnaise 0 oz
- Sauerkraut 5 oz
- Ketchup 1 tablespoon
- Worcestershire Sauce 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the beef in the oven or on the grill, cool it down, and slice it into thin pieces.
Step 2
Trim the crusts off the bread. Mix the mayonnaise with Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread the resulting dressing in a thin layer on one side of each slice of bread, and mix the remaining dressing with the sauerkraut.
Step 3
On four slices of bread, place a piece of cheese (on top of the dressing layer), then add some meat and sauerkraut. Repeat the layers in reverse order.
Step 4
Grill the sandwich on both sides until the cheese melts and 'glues' the filling together. Serve the sandwich hot.
