Description

Any white bread will work, but it's better to use some freshly baked bread with a crust.

Ingredients

  • White bread 2 pieces
  • Bacon 2 pieces
  • Mayonnaise 3 spoons
  • Tomatoes 3 pieces
  • Romaine lettuce 2 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Toast the bread in a toaster, making sure not to let it become too dry.

Step 2

In the mayonnaise (it's best to use homemade), add a little olive oil, squeeze in some garlic, and add a few drops of Tabasco or freshly ground pepper.

Step 3

To achieve beautiful, crispy slices, lay the bacon out on a cold baking sheet, place it in a cold oven, and start preheating to 200°C (400°F). In about 15-20 minutes, the bacon will develop its characteristic crispness and color - just be careful not to overcook it. Immediately place the bacon on paper towels to absorb any excess fat.

Step 4

Slice the tomatoes into half-centimeter thick rounds.

Step 5

Tear the lettuce leaves to match the size of the bread pieces.

Step 6

Combine the ingredients and place them on a large, heated plate.
