American Chicken and Bacon Burger
Ingredients
- Bun 2 pieces
- Onion 2 pieces
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Brown Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Paprika 3 tablespoons
- Passata Tomato Sauce 3 tablespoons
- Bacon 0 oz
- Ground meat 5 oz
- Cheese Spread 5 oz
- Eel to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First, prepare the barbecue sauce. It cooks very quickly, but the taste is simply amazing. By the way, I later used it on pizza, and I must say — it works great there too. So, finely chop the onion and garlic.
Step 2
In olive oil, sauté the onion and garlic for a minute or two. Then add the brown sugar — it will help caramelize the onion, giving it a sweet taste and a slightly crunchier texture. After another minute, add the paprika and tomato paste. If the sauce is too thick — add a little boiling water.
Step 3
Now let's move on to the patty — an essential part of the hamburger. I used to substitute it with sausage and ham, but of course, that's not the same. A real good hamburger is only with a juicy fresh patty. It's simple here. Finely chop the bacon and onion, and fry them well (so that the bacon becomes crispy — this is important). Add the paprika and mix.
Step 4
Transfer the ground meat to a bowl, season with salt and pepper, as it will be impossible to do this later. Make a well and add the sautéed mixture into it.
Step 5
Add a little grated cheese (you can use mozzarella, but Gruyère or cheddar works too). Mix everything well and form patties. The height should be about 2.5 cm, and the diameter slightly larger than the bun.
Step 6
In a dry skillet, toast the cut sides of the buns.
Step 7
After that, pour a little olive oil and fry the patties for about 3 minutes on each side.
Step 8
When you flip the patty for the first time — place slices of cheese (about 0.5 cm thick) on top, letting it start to melt slightly from the heat of the patty.
Step 9
While the patties are finishing, slice the tomato and finely chop the lettuce. Here you can use any greens and vegetables.
Step 10
Assemble the hamburger. Bun, greens, tomato, bacon, cheese patty, and generously top with sauce!
